Selection of lubricating oil for sliding bearings of a three-cylinder dryer
Due to the complex structure of a three-cylinder dryer, its sliding bearings, as the dryer body rotates, are often in the state of boundary or semi-fluid friction. The lubrication of bearings is very important for the dryer to operate effectively for a long term. Here, I will give you a brief summary of how to choose lubricating oil for sliding bearings of a three-cylinder dryer.
1. Lubricating oil of proper viscosity shall be chosen for sliding bearings of a three-cylinder dryer according to load, rotating speed and working temperature of the bearings, with special attention to the oiliness and anti-extreme pressure function of the lubricating oil.
2. Different lubricating oil has different viscosity. When we choose proper lubricating oil for sliding bearings of a three-cylinder dryer, instructions from the manufacturer shall be strictly followed to ensure good lubrication for the bearings.
3. Generally, many types of lubricating oil have a viscosity that drops as the temperature rises and vice versa. However, neither increased nor decreased viscosity can form a sound lubricating film on the sliding bearings, thus being unable to produce a good lubricating effect. So, when choosing lubricating oil for sliding bearings of a three-cylinder dryer, attention must be paid to the property of the oil that keeps a good reliability over temperature change.
4. As a three-cylinder dryer runs, the friction suffered by the sliding bearings becomes increasingly greater, which in turn causes the temperature to become increasingly higher. This requires us to pay attention to the volatility of lightweight components in the chosen lubricating oil, so as to ensure a good lubricating effect between sliding bearings. In addition, the scope of materials to which a three-cylinder dryer applies is very wide and the environment where the dryer works is relatively bad. With long operation of the equipment, the lubricating oil on the sliding bearings will inevitably be contaminated by dusts and foreign matters, which will result in thicker oil, make components more difficult to move and easily cause sliding bears of the dryer to suffer from significant wear. Therefore, cleaning and maintenance of the bearings are very important.
